I'd like to backup all my maps from the mindmeister repository/library. At the moment i have to download/export each map separatly which is very importunate. So i would suggest a "backupbutton" which generates one Zipfile with all my maps for my local backup.

Completely agree. Love the product, so am trusting it more and more with my projects, but as the number of maps I'm developing on here grows rapidly, so does my exposure in the event of a problem with your site. And the more maps I have, the longer the backups take. Please prioritise some kind of 'system dump' feature - in a format that can be read by other programs, so some kind of giant PDF of each map should be included as a last case 'rebuild by hand' safety feature.
Perhaps just open up the "export" feature from the business version to other premium users. It's maybe a bit too "power user", but nothing a blog post wouldn't fix.
Yes, to me it feels like MindMeister is illegally capturing our data by making it so difficult to export. It's one of the major reasons I hardly use MindMeister any more and I think that MindMeister will ultimately be in trouble if they keep locking in users like that.
Given the ongoing issues with the latest web version, and the long forum topic about lost maps, the product NEEDS a bulk map export feature NOW. Dont care if it's limited formats, or whatever - just want to be able to get my maps out in bulk, now.
A backup- or export all maps-feature would be really important! Today, I wanted to open one of my maps in Mindmeister but I couldn't access the map because of an error. Unfortunately, I haven't exported the map yet so that I have no local file. I am sure that the Mindmeister team can fix the error but I can't access my map in the meantime which is really annoying.
I really like Mindmeister, particularly the new revision! There are a lot of improvements in the new version. But if you want a backup, exporting each map separately is really no solution and too much work! Please add an export all maps-button!
thought I'd add another comment since there's now a new site and new commercial options. I'm not willing to pay for the super-premium business account for this feature, so I wanted to add a few alternative options:
- one export per month ..?
- pay-per-export ..?
- One big zip file (like with basecamp)
All that said, having an option to access all my maps from a dropbox folder would be great - maybe a desktop version of your app would be possible in future..?
I need frequent and automated backups of my mind-maps to ensure the safety of latest data. In that way the access to the mindmap is possible even if mindmeister server is offline or I don't have access to internet. In that way I'll feel more security on my mindmaps.
Backup destination can be FTP, Google Storage, sugarsync...etc. I prefer backup per day or week
I believe mindmeister will come up with a solution soon
You can already backup all your maps to a SFTP server in the MindMeister Business Edition.
In spite of the fact that there is already a backup option in the Business Edition I would approve the possibility to export all maps manually in all MindMeister editions.
At the moment, you have to open each map separately to export it. I would prefer a button in the main window exporting all maps.
With such a feature, you have a local copy of all maps on your hard drive and you can access them even if you have no Internet connection, for example with Freemind.
I've just created a new feature request for such an export all maps button. You can support it here:
