Performing certain actions on nodes, for example moving children to a different parent, or deleting them, would be less manual and time-consuming if instead of doing them one-by-one you could "group select" nodes and perform the operation on everything at once.

This needs to happen. Many other programs have this and the issue is speed. Comapping has great speed, and it would be great for Mindmeister to catch up.
Another feature that is definitely on our roadmap. Again quite complex from a technical perspective but we can see that it would make working with MindMeister much easier. ETA: Q2/2011
Almost 6 months have passed. Any updates on this NECESSARY feature?
We are still working on this feature.
I am just starting to see all I can achieve by using Mindmeister in my personal organization system. Multiple nodes selection would be awesome, especially for edition purposes (adding the same parameters or icons to several nodes at once). Keep up the good work, I love this service.
as a former applications designer I know in my gut that this feature request will involve heavy programming and testing. But it would be incredibly useful. I'm adding my +1 but am willing to be very patient on this one, any bugs in a feature that allows multiple-selection and editing could be a major disaster ... so take your time & do it right :-)
Hi All,
On the customer relation side of things, when I am in a meeting, or working with a client to help them sort their ideas, we have a great need for speed. People speak rapidly, more than one person chimes in, and to reorganize that on the fly while keeping up with people's new ideas is a key issue. Also, they watch me do this, and if the process is fast, they'll like it. If any part of the process is slow, they won't like it. My goal is to get more and more people to use Mindmeister, so the more benefits they see, and the fewer drawbacks they see, that SELLS them on the idea, and they need less convincing later on.
I get that the programming behind this is difficult, but want to encourage you to do it anyway :)
BTW, the upgraded Mindmeister is much better! Thanks, and keep up the good work!!
I believe this feature is sorely needed. Specific use cases for me are:
"Q2/2011" ... we're almost in Q4 and still nothing.... I really like Mindmesiter for its collaboration capabilities but to be honest it lacks so many features which even free (non online) competitors have.
"We are still working on this feature." - 5 months later... what is the status of this feature?
We're doing a trial of MindMeister and we need this feature too. For example, I'd like to select multiple adjoining nodes and use one connection to connect them all to another node.
he guys,
As mentioned above.... some updating on progress would be nice.
Thanx in advance.
Jasper
We are already finishing this feature and will provide it within January. So stay tuned on http://www.mindmeister.com/blog
FABULOUS!!
Bravo!!! A thousand blessings upon you all a thousand times per day!!! Really Great!! You've just removed a pain point and added a pleasure point! Saw this during a Saturday demonstration for a new research assistant - she could see me grinning!! Drinks are on me in San Diego if your gang is ever in town!
GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR.
Question: Is multiple removal of a property supposed to work? I tried multi-selecting some nodes and setting task completion to None, removing date & assigned name and wasn't sure the results were as expected.
exciting, but January almost over... ;)
